Dental Implants at Bigmouthten Dental Clinic, Chiang Mai

Whether you are missing one tooth or several, dental implants are the modern gold standard for restoring your smile and function. At Bigmouthten Dental Clinic, Chiang Mai, we provide high-precision digital implant solutions that look, feel, and function exactly like natural teeth.

What are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a small titanium screw that serves as an artificial "root." It is surgically placed into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone over time. Once healed, it supports a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture, providing a permanent foundation for your smile.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

  • Preserves Natural Teeth: Unlike traditional bridges, implants do not require crafting out of neighboring teeth. Easily for maintenance and cleaning.

  • Prevents Bone Loss: The implant stimulates the jawbone, preventing the natural bone shrinkage that occurs when a tooth root is missing.

  • Superior Durability: The implant post itself is designed to last a lifetime, while the restoration offers better function for eating and speaking than bulky denture.

Premium Implant Brands

We use internationally recognized systems to ensure maximum biocompatibility and long-term success:

  • Nobel Biocare: Originally from Sweden and now headquartered in Switzerland, this brand is the global pioneer in implant technology with decades of clinical success.

  • Straumann: Headquartered in Switzerland, Straumann is a world leader in dental implantology, renowned for high-performance surfaces that promote faster healing.

  • MegaGen Blue Diamond: A premium system from South Korea, featuring advanced thread design for high stability and faster osseointegration.

High-Strength Zirconia Restoration

For the final restoration, we exclusively use Zirconia crowns over implants. Zirconia is a premium, metal-free ceramic known for its extreme toughness and lifelike aesthetics. It is highly resistant to chipping and wear, ensuring your new tooth can withstand the daily pressure of chewing while blending perfectly with your natural smile.

The Dental Implant Procedure & Timeline

The timeline for your implant depends on your bone condition and the Specialist's clinical assessment.

  • Phase 1: Extraction & Surgical Placement: If a damaged tooth is present, it must be removed.

    • Immediate Implant: In some cases, the implant can be placed during the same visit as the extraction. Requiring less time for healing and less time for waiting for a permanent crown.

    • Delayed Placement: If there is an infection or insufficient bone volume, the Specialist may advise a waiting period of approximately 3 months after extraction to allow the site to stabilize before placing the implant.

  • Phase 2: Final Restoration & Bonding: Once the implant has fused with your jawbone (Osseointegration)—a process that typically takes 3–4 months—our Specialist takes a digital impression to craft your final, custom-matched Zirconia crown, which is then securely attached.

Bone Grafting & Sinus Lift

A strong foundation of bone is required for the implant to be successful. During your assessment, our Specialist will evaluate if additional support is needed:

  • Bone Grafting: Adding specialized bone material to strengthen the implant site.

  • Sinus Lift: A procedure for the upper jaw that provides extra bone height by gently lifting the sinus membrane.

Important Note: While 3D CBCT scans are vital, not all cases are determined by imaging alone. A physical assessment by our Specialist is essential to confirm if bone grafting or a sinus lift is necessary.

How Long Do Dental Implants Last?

  • Lifetime Foundation: The titanium post is designed to last a lifetime with proper care.

  • Restoration Longevity:Zirconia crowns are incredibly durable  needing simple maintenance or replacement.

  • Maintenance: Regular check-ups and good oral hygiene are vital to prevent peri-implantitis.
